Coppelia
classical ballet in 3 acts
music: Leo Delibes
choreography: Stanislav Tchassov after Petipa
The ballet interweaves the romance between Swanhilda and Franz with the story of the doll-
Franz falls in love with Coppelius’ doll Coppelia, whom he thinks is alive. He finally recognises that she is just a doll and returns to Swanhilda, after which the sparkling grand divertissement sees everyone reconciled.
Full of humour and exciting Hungarian dances such as ‘Czardas’ and ‘Mazurka’ the ballet has beautiful scenery and handcrafted costumes, and is a total delight and great entertainment for all ages.
Early booking is recommended.
